Non-Malagasy genera

[edit]

I think this article is well done. However, is it really certain that those non-Malagasy species are Vangidae? Is there even a consensus? The history of systematics is full of classifications that were considered certain and are now discredited, so I usually use phrases such as "are currently placed in" or "genetic evidence suggests that".

And if they are definitely Vangidae or even if this is just the right place to list them for the present, the article shouldn't say that the vangas are restricted to Madagascar and the Comoros. —JerryFriedman (Talk) 16:28, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've re-worded the article a bit to make it less definite and make it clearer that the new additions are also Madagascan birds. Tigershrike (talk) 22:00, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think that's an improvement. Thinking the newtonias etc. weren't Madascan was probably just sloppy on my part, but now other sloppy people will be saved from the same mistake. —JerryFriedman (Talk) 00:37, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

NON-MALAGASY GENERA OF COURSE!

[edit]
