Files
  • File:Vann Molyvann.jpg Green tickY Own work by uploader
  • All the others are Red XN: There's no freedom of panorama in Cambodia. Those files should be deleted. Yes, it's a pity that will leave us with an article about an architect with no images of his works, but copyright comes before everything else.
Done. That is a real shame :(
Infobox and lead
Done.
Early life
  • "Molyvann obtained a scholarship to pursue studies in Paris, France in 1946". I'm not quite sure if the reference is paywalled or just broken: it loads a page, with something resembling a HTML error.
Fixed
  • "After one year of law..." Law is too generic a link to be of much use. Can you point it to something more specific? The article is paywalled, so I can't check it myself.
There is no further information in the source, but I'll remove the link.
New Khmer Architecture
  • He returned to Cambodia, and was appointed to those important roles... but why? how? Did he ask for it and won? Did his reputation precede him?
Added a bit more information about his qualifications and appointment in the context of Sihanouk's post-independence era. Arcahaeoindris (talk) 10:37, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Architecture is not like grabbing a palette and brush and making a portrait. There are many factors to it: location of the building, if the space is empty or will replace something else, raw materials needed, time to build, unions, etc. Meaning, many things that surely happened during construction. But the section does not mention any: it just lists buildings, as if the man simply snapped his fingers and the buildings appeared.
  • "Impressed with his work in Phnom Penh, Lee Kuan Yew offered Molyvann the opportunity to help design a new Singapore, which he declined" Reasons?
No reason given in any of the sources that mention this
Civil War and Khmer Rouge era
  • "He chose not to return then as the subsequent rulers were "still communists"." Was he talking about some specific ruler when he said this?
No - this was a quote from the sourced article. But he would have been referring to the Cambodian People's Party and/or the People's Republic of Kampuchea.
Return to Cambodia
  • "He was also appointed head of APSARA". It is usual to give the full name the first time, followed by the acronym (such as "Authority for the Protection of the Site and Management of the Region of Angkor (APSARA)"), and then just the acronym in later uses.
Done.
Death
  • Did he die of natural causes? Did he had any known illness or disease? Was there any funeral?
Added some more information
Legacy
  • Seems fine
Works
Done.
