Duece vs Deuce

[edit]

The word deuce is spelled 'duece' in this article ... is this on purpose?

'Duece' usually only appears as a misspelling of the word deuce. Arguably, there may be some slang uses of the word 'deuce' (that seemed to have come into being as a direct result of the common misspelling of 'duece').

In this article, the word refers to a game that involves aces and deuces, implying the notation is borrowed from that of playing cards. Since the word is definitely spelled 'deuce' in playing cards (and nearly everywhere else), I think the spelling should be changed.

'Duece' is such a common spelling mistake that it may indeed be thought of by some as an acceptable alternate spelling for 'deuce', but I think the official spelling is most appropriate here.

Note: The spelling in the cited reference is also incorrect. Adammanifold (talk) 04:39, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
