Contradiction

[edit]

The article seems to contradict itself about what types of dyes are used for vat dyeing. Clarification is needed.

It looks like most of the article was copied verbatim from a web page about vat dyeing (http://www.pburch.net/dyeing/vatdyes.shtml), including a paragraph about diifferent dyes for vat dyeing that made perfect sense in context but makes no sense at all in an entry specifically about vat dyes.

Disambiguation needed

[edit]

Vat dyeing = dyeing using a bucket ("vat") Vat dyestuff = a dyestuff which is applied in its "leuco" (reduced) state and as it oxidizes with air oxygen, the colour develops. Anthraquinone vat dyes are the most important group of vat dyestuffs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.2.135.162 (talk) 14:45, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
