Title[edit]

There are today German euro coins, Dutch euro coins, French euro coins. But nobody speaks of "the German euro", "the Dutch euro", "the French euro". The euro is a single currency.

Surely it was the same for the Vatican lira coins. The Vatican City State adopted the Italian currency, and issued lira coins within limits fixed by agreement with Italy. But nobody spoke of a "Vatican lira" currency. There were, for instance, no Vatican lira banknotes.

The title should be changed to "Vatican lira coins", in line with the article on Vatican euro coins? Lima (talk) 05:36, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The title should be changed to Vatican City lira, as the name of the country is the Vatican City - (203.211.76.33 (talk) 02:01, 14 May 2014 (UTC))[reply]

The Vatican lira? What's the point of a separate currency for a couple of palaces and the backyard of one of those palaces? A currency proclaimed by a country consisting of a palace and its backyard is not particularly necessary, is it?
