Title

[edit]

Why not change the title to European Immigration in Venezuela? Is more neutral and objective, that a "term" (White Venezuelan) unofficial of dubious origin?, or maybe create a more general article called Ethnography of Venezuela. Restoring ref improve and original research tags

[edit]

Having checked over the changes in content, no WP:RS or anything to suggest that the body of the article is anything other than WP:OR have been provided. Adding vaguely sourced maps and an infobox gallery featuring Venezuelans of European descent has merely made what is, essentially, a stub look a little more meaty. Please do not remove these tags until the required reliable sources are introduced in order to establish verifiability. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 23:14, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I can't see anything on this talk page to indicate that a gallery of 'notable people' was ever discussed, nor any form of consensus as to who should be depicted or why. Considering that the WP:TITLE of the article is "Venezuelans of European descent", not "List of notable Venezuelans of European descent", what purpose does it serve in illustrating the average member of this ethnic group (bearing in mind that the infobox being used is the 'ethnic group' infobox)? How does one arrive at a selection without WP:OR and WP:POV rationales for inclusion or exclusion?

Please note that there is an RfC currently underway here proposing that all of these 'notable people' galleries for ethnic group article infoboxes should be removed. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 22:23, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mariah Carey, Hugo Chavez, Simon Bolivar or Simon Diaz must be included in that etnics groups regards of their true ancestries and not wishes of users--Vvven (talk) 22:42, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is not the issue. Judging by the current responses at the RfC, these galleries are going to be removed for all ethnic group articles, full stop. I have no interest in entering into a dispute as to who is 'more' or 'less' representative. That's an entirely WP:OR and WP:POV yardstick. Where are the reliable sources for who is the most important or notable individual in any ethnic group? What does a group of extraordinary people in any given field of expertise/attributes have to do with the diasporic communities at the centre of the content? --Iryna Harpy (talk) 22:48, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
