Article move[edit]

Shouldn't this article be moved to Veronika Vařeková? As far as I know, this model is still a Czech citizen. Unlike Petr Nedved who changed his name from Nedvěd when he became a Canadian citizen, the model's legal name is still Veronika Vařeková, not Veronica Varekova. Category:Czech models lists several other Czech models famous in the English-speaking world who have diacritics in the article title. Olessi 19:12, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

IMO yes. It would require an admin since Veronika Vařeková already redirects here. Pavel Vozenilek 15:06, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Since that redirect only had one version in its history, the move was possible. Cheers! Olessi 15:11, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NO. The English alphabet does not have any diacritical marks, not even for the vowels {a, e, i, o, u, y}, and this is an encyclopededia in the ENGLISH langauage, not in Czech, French, Polish, etc. Her name is "Veronika Varekova" in English. Just get used to it. When I write German, I write it the German way. When I write Spanish, I write it the Spanish way, including with a diacritical mark over "n" sometimes. My native language is English, and I write English using the English alphabet, and not the Czech, French, German, or Slovakian way. For example, we do not have umlauts in English.

RED Wikilinks -- do not allow them![edit]

Places like "Next Models", orphanages, etc., do not have articles to link to, nor do they need any articles. There are just places, people, and organizations that are not significant enough to be in an encyclopedia. Otherwise, the memory banks of the Wikipedia would be the size of Eurasia, and 100 km deep underground!

Czechoslovakia[edit]

Veronika Varekova was born and raised in Czechoslovakia, just as were Daniela Pestova, Petra Nemkova, Adriana Sklenarikova, and Veronica Zemanova.
The Czech Republic was not established until January 1, 1993.

You need to pay attention to the fact that millions and millions of people were born in Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, the USSR, East Germany, and West Germany. D.A.W. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.67.96.230 (talk) 17:49, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
