Kings Highway 100[edit]

Is this road still provincially-maintained, or has it been downloaded to London and Middlesex County? RingtailedFoxTalkStalk 03:07, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment[edit]

I have assessed this as Start Class, as it contains a fair amount of detail and organization, although it is completely unreferenced. I have assessed this as low importance, as it is a highly specific topic within Canada. Cheers, CP 05:51, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Citation issues[edit]

An anonymous editor has been removing the citation needed and self-published source tags. The solution to older CN tags isn't removal. CN tags should only be removed if they're replaced by a source, or the statement doesn't need citation. Self-published sources should be flagged and replaced as soon as possible in any event. I have also made several formatting fixes to eliminate improper use of boldface and to reduce all caps to title case. Please don't revert the positive changes. Length (Wilton Grove Road extension)[edit]

The length of the road given in the article is currently 9.2km, but no source is given. Waze gives a distance of 12.2km from Huron Street to Wilton Grove Road, but I don't have a RS-worthy source for the length. Does anyone? Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 17:57, 14 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sources for original construction[edit]

@Haljackey: do you have access to the London Public Library? I'm wondering if you might be able to take a look at this study, maybe grab some pictures or the whole thing if possible and email me? I'm having a very difficult time locating resources on the original Airport Road construction in the 1970s, as well as any plans or city council debates on it being part of the proposed ring road at the time. (also another picture of the route would be nice) - Floydian τ ¢ 18:33, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The original plan was that an east end expressway/freeway would be the east end of the 402 from Sarnia. The debate raged for years about whether it would be in or out of the city, and which alignment and which neighbourhoods, if any, would be disrupted. In the end, city council finally decided it would not have the 402. The province agreed to build it southwest of London, and build an east end expressway for industrial access southward to the 401. That's waht was built. GBC (talk) 02:40, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming by adding city name?[edit]

There are numerous roads in North America named Veterans Memorial, and it seems to me that this article, even if it is the only one of that name, should be named << Veterans Memorial Parkway, London, Ontario >>, and if and when necessary, a link at the beginning to disambiguation about other roads that use Veterans Memorial in their name. Just a thought. GBC (talk) 21:42, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There's only two that have an article named "Veterans Memorial Parkway" (and the Evansville one looks pretty non-notable). The hatnote already serves to link to similarly named roads though, and this article has been at this title since 2007 without any issues arising. Feel free to start a move discussion if you feel strongly about. - Floydian τ ¢ 22:25, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
