AllMusic claims that the album was released in 1987, but most other sources claim 1986. It could be that the LP was released in '86 and the US CD in '87, but I haven't found a source claiming as much. Dinjiin (talk)
Yeah, the AllMusic Guide has been wrong about the release dates for several albums in my experience. I actually own the Vicious Rumors LP (U.S. version), and the copyright date on the back is definitely 1986. Another reason to assume it was released that year is the fact that the "Rumors" single came out in '86. Oh, here we go: The AllMusic Guide itself, even though it lists "1987" as the official release date, actually has the album reaching #29 on the R&B charts in 1986...[1]
