Feedback from New Page Review process[edit]

I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: Unless I'm mistaken, this article is on the same topic as Light tanks of the United Kingdom. Perhaps they should be merged together? Eddie891 Talk Work 12:08, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Eddie891: Hi, and thanks for reviewing the article. I fear that you may indeed be mistaken. Although they were originally based on the same chassis as the Light Tanks Marks II and III, the Light Dragons were artillery tractors and therefore not tanks. As you can see from the article, they were unarmed and unarmoured and specifically designed for towing light and medium artillery. Similarly the Vickers Medium Dragons were entirely different from the Vickers Medium Mark I and Vickers 6-ton tanks and benefit from their own separate page.
In some cases articles need splitting, and others benefit from merging. I feel that in this case the Dragons are distinct enough to warrant their own page, and in any case the Mark III Light Dragon is an entirely different vehicle which doesn't need merging with the Bren gun carrier article. Likewise the T-13 B3 tank destroyer (very loosely based on the Light Dragon Mk. II) is happy in its own article chronicling that particular vehicle's development, and in my opinion no merging needs to take place there, either. Happy editing! ~~ ~~
