Matkaselkä–Suojärvi railroad

[edit]
Early 20th-century photo of a bridge across the Shuya River

There is an article on Finnish Wikipedia: fi:Matkaselkä–Suojärvi-rata. This is the railroad north of Lake Ladoga from Matkaselkä (someplace north of Sortavala) to Suojärvi on the old Finnish - Soviet border. Is there a corresponding article on the English or Russian Wikipedia? -- Petri Krohn 17:23, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Where is this bridge across the Shuya River? The Finnish article says that the railroad was opened in 1924, but this photo shows there was a railroad near Suojärvi (the lake) in 1915. Also, the Commons:Image:FinnishCivilWarMapBegin.svg shows the track ready by 1918. -- Petri Krohn 17:36, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.P.S. Answering my own question. It seems that the picture is part of the Murmansk railroad, on the western shore of Lake Onega. -- Petri Krohn 18:13, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
