How do you know the name 'village files' was made up by Pappe? See reference 19 in the book, it refers to 'the intelligence service and the village files'
You should not write in the weasel style, like 'The files would have provided...'. If you think it's pov you should make it 'According to Pappe the files provided'
Note 19 is a reference for a sentence written by Luria. In what year ? At the very beginning at this project given he instigated this, I assume.
The references talks about 1940-1948 period.
And p.19, what do Pappe writes : « By the late 1930's, the archives was almost complete. » Strange. What did they do during 40-48's period ?
Note 25 (second one concerning Villages files) is the reference for : « in 1947 this whole cartographic department was moved to the Red House ». That is strange to find this information in a document that gathers detailled description of Palestinian Arab villages.
Later "Pasternark lead one of the early excursions (...) in 1940". I am definitely lost. And there is no reference...
Write Pappe (he doesn't answer me) and ask him a copy of these files. I will be glad to make this translated from Hebrew for free.

1. Please read this: The ethnic cleansing of Palestine Here it says 'By the late 1940's', where it says 'By the late 1930's' in the book. Apparently there is a typographic error in the book.

Personnally, if I had wanted to be clear and having nothing to hide, I would have written : "it was completed soon before the First inter-communal war in Palestine".
And, remind me. Was this used or not during the 36-39 arab revolt ? :-)
