Speedy Deletion[edit]

I don't get the Speedy Deletion thing. An article on Chief Vince Bevan was asked to be created on WP:Ottawa and I did... I think it shows the importance of Vince Bevan.. --Deenoe 13:54, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I just checked and the criteria given is "Unremarkable people or groups/vanity pages." Vince Bevan is currently Chief of one of the biggest Police Service in Canada, and he is Chief of one of the only six cities allowed to be part of the Major Cities Chiefs association. --Deenoe 13:56, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe the user didn't realize he was involved in the case of Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka when he was in the Niagara region - which is one indication why he is article noteworthy --JForget 18:32, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow! I wasn't aware of that? Can you add a little information about it on the article, cause I know nothing about it. --Deenoe 19:30, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've breifly mentionned it on the article, for now. The site in reference [1] mentions he was head of the Green Task force in Niagara during the Bernardo arrest. But soon, I'll try to find more details on Bevan's link with the Bernardo case (by doing) Paul Bernardo + Vince Bevan on Google --JForget 02:12, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Past tense[edit]

DI2000, perhaps you should of waited until Vernon White actually takes position (in May) before using the past tense :p Ah well... don't change it, cause we'll have to change it in 2 months. --Deenoe 01:50, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My bad - however, Bevan's retirement seems set for this month, rather than in May, according to the sometimes conflicting news sources. References section is now set up and some attempt was made to make coherent sense of the timing info. Dl2000 02:17, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
