References

  • 12/03/06 U.S. News and World Report Uncork the Lowest Prices *Not really useful only a single one line mention as an afterthought
  • 08/29/06 The Independent (UK) My Round: A Final Toast to the World's Best Wine Blogs *Slightly useful I had more hopes for this one since the article is about wine blogs. That takes the one line mention above being "trivial" and could possible be used in the article as a line about being mentioned a useful blog resource on San Francisco area wine by the Independent.
  • 03/02/06 San Francisco Chronicle Eureka! Ten Good Zinfandels and Syrahs for $10 or Less *Not really useful and most likely the wrong link. This is a follow up article to the Corkage article above and again its a brief mention of the founder's view on corkage with an even briefer mention of the blog in passing.
  • 01/25/06 San Francisco Chronicle Corkage Debate Heats Up*Not really useful Duplicate link of note above about the Corkage thing.
  • October 2005 Food & Wine Seven Best Wine Blogs*Useful Article about wine blogs with a substantial mention about Vinography

It is a little misleading to list these as "references" since they aren't referencing anything in the body of the article. I'm not advocating the complete removal of these links since they are pertinent to establishing the notability of the wine blog by documenting non-trivial, third party write ups. What needs to be done is to turn this from being a spam list to actually true references that is incorporated into the body of the article. Some of the links do need to go, like the ones written on blogs which really don't hold much snuff with our reliable source policies. Things like the New York Times and San Fran Chronicle do pass as long as the mention of Vinography is not a trivial one or two line mention in passing. I'm going to look at some of these links in more detail and help incorporate some of them into the article. AgneCheese/Wine 19:59, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • UpdateI incorporated several of the useful links into the blog and toned down some slight POV that was there. The only useful link that I haven't found a home for is the last one above-the San Fran chronicle "Going blog wild". It duplicates the info of some of the other links with the only thing really being unique is the mention that the blog is not for profit. At the moment I can't think of the most seamless way to integrate that tidbit into the article. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I also did a web search to try and find some more non-trivial sources but could come up with anything so far. But it still worth looking for. AgneCheese/Wine 21:03, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to so throughly go through those links and describe the rationale for each. I have a better understanding now of your goals for the article, which I agree with. Gnocchiandwine (talk) 23:46, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
