I wrote to the V&T, and on Oct. 4, 2005 received this reply:

Lots of good things are happening, we have purchased a 1914 Baldwin locomotive, have filled the Overmand pit and laid the first rail since the 30's. We are now working on tunnel two. We hope to have the railway up and running by 2009-2010.

Todo

[edit]

The Virginia and Truckee's locomotives and equipment appeared in numerous Westerns, since the V&T operated obsolete equipment into the cinema age. Need a good history of their appearances. Matthew Brown (Morven) (T:C) 21:40, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why Truckee?

[edit]

In my VERY SHORT search, I have come to the conclusion that V&T railroad went north as far as Reno but never came anywhere near Truckee. Was there an initial plan to bring the northern end farther west to Truckee? ~~LPMeissner@msn.com~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.201.191.1 (talk) 23:31, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It actually means the Truckee River, which it crossed right near the end of the line in Reno. GusterPosey (talk) 09:07, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
