Costa Luminosa?

[edit]

I don't see anything in the Costa Luminosa or its supplied references to document that it's based on the Vista class nor on one of the derivative designs. Does anyone have a source for that? --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 00:04, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I also see that Costa Deliziosa has been added to the page; but I still can't locate a reference to where it's documented that either of these are based on the Vista class or any of the existing derivative designs from the Vista class. Anyone have a source to support this? If not, I'll just remove the mention until it can be supported. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 15:39, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I attempted to find an online reference for this claim some time ago, but failed to find anything in the internet that would support the claim. However, looking now at Costa's website there is an online brochure for Costa Lumiosa and she does look like a Vista class ship based on that. — Kjet (talk · contribs) 17:19, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's hard to tell from the brochure. It's clearly not the same as the original Vista class; but it could be derived from the Cunard derivatives. I'll keep watching for a better source. But if sources that specifically support this cannot be found, then there may be an issue with Wikipedia policy. Each generation claims to be an "all new" design concept, so lumping them as Vista derivatives begins to look more and more like WP:OR as the derivative designs diverge further from the ships that were originally under that class. As derivative designs continue to diverge from the original, it may become more-and-more appropriate to create different articles for each derivative class; but then, there's the problem of naming them ... the only derivative that has a name that I'm aware are the two Signature class ships. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 19:43, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Carnival Vista

[edit]

Even though the ship is named Carnival Vista I don't believe it will be a Vista-Class ship, it seems people jumped to conclusions just because of the name, but with the Vista being 135,500 GT vs. 91,000 GT; it just doesn't fit. --Yankeesman312 (talk) 05:24, 1 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Signature Class

[edit]

Why is the Signature Class mentioned in the text (without getting its own page) but not in the table section? It should be one of those two options... either give it its own page with the ships listed there (like done for the Hybrids) or list them here under a small headline "Signature class variants" below the others. --84.118.56.218 (talk) 00:20, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
