Visual Art's website BLOCKED?[edit]

I tried to get onto Visual Art's website and I am getting the error "I'm sorry. This access is not admitted." Has the website been blocked form being accessed outside Japan or is that URL fake/outdated? --Akemi Mokoto (talk) 20:47, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The website's been blocked outside Japan for years now; ever since the RapeLay incident.-- 21:17, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a legal reason for the block? RapeLay is not even a Visual Art's product. The company that made has their website still viewable outside Japan. I don't get it. When will this unnecessary block be lifted? :( --Akemi Mokoto (talk) 21:21, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's mainly out of fear of any possible repercussions from what I can tell. Visual Art's is just worried that something similar to the RapeLay incident might happen to them or one of their games, so they restricted access outside Japan, as have many other visual novel developers, including Minori. As to when it'll get lifted, I would say never. Visual Art's is just trying to protect their assets and keep them inside Japan. You can still access their website via a proxy if you know how to use one. And also, their catalog is unblocked for whatever reason: [1]-- 21:26, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. I'm pissed at how the political correctness outside Japan has caused this kinda nonsense to happen. Hopefully things will change(HA!). Thanks for the help. --Akemi Mokoto (talk) 21:31, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
