Comment[edit]

This Vivos deal was covered on The Colbert Report. I am a fan of Doomsday fiction and so had to look at the site. Since then I've had the feeling that the same deal was being offered in the 1980. "Opportunistic Scam"[edit]

I am tempted to delete the reference to the project being an "opportunistic scam". Following the link, I don't see anything in the article itself that says anything about it being a scam, but rather just some of the miscellaneous reader comments after the article. This appears to be an advertisement for Vivos[edit]

Scam?[edit]

Various editors have attempted to add material to the effect of 'it may just be a big scam' to the article, always sourced to "2012hoax.org". { [1] [2] [3] [4] } While, if true, it would definitely be worth including, I believe 2012hoax.org is not a reliable enough source to be relied upon singlehandedly for such a claim. Further, respectable publications such as Forbes, CNN Money, Popular Science, etc, are treating it as a real business. Until better sources can be found echoing such claims, and/or 2012hoax.org can be proven to be an exceptionally reliable source, I'm leaving such claims out. There are far too many legitimate major international news agencies that have fully vetted Vivos and Mr. Vicino. Unfortunately for your edification, Vivos is quite real, with real shelters and real satisfied members. Yes, it's a real business[edit]

...In the business of making money off of fear mongering. The real giveaway is Spike TV doing another reality show. I wouldn't give this much credence other than entertainment value. And this wikipedia page is an advertisement.

The entire thing is heavily reminiscent of a vault network in the Fallout series.

Response: Unfortunately, for your claim, Vivos has been around longer than "Fallout". Mr. Vicino has often been referred to as the "mastermind" and "philanthropists", not the trite term you so "opportunistically" have used above based on your own "obsession" with his success. Vivos is alive and doing very well![edit]

Article talk pages are not a forum for general discussion of the topic. Please assume good faith, avoid attacking other editors, and limit comments to those aimed at improving the article.

While many people have commented that Vivos is a scam: not real, or that it has “ended development”, their facts are derived from uninformed, zealous and even spiteful comments. Since 2008, thousands of legitimate major media news sources, have vetted Vivos and its management. Vivos has granted limited access to the largest television networks and news agencies, even allowing the film crews to spend the night in Vivos shelters. Unreliable and even suspiciously biased websites have made unsubstantiated claims, malicious accusations, and hostile comments about Vivos without any real knowledge or verifiable sources other than derogatory comments to news articles, and other sophomoric sources. “The Colbert Report” has been referenced above, as a critical source following several satirical skits about Vivos. The reports were comedy intended to make people laugh, not to "report" on any real facts about Vivos and this epic and historical project. It appears there are many people [some may say “trolls”] that find a personal need to disparage Vivos and the necessity for these shelters in today's dangerous world. It is clear that their negativity is typically based on their own personal limited belief system, and/or the fact that they cannot afford the price to get into a Vivos shelter. When asked would they buy a space in Vivos if the price was only $1.00 per person, the unanimous response is of course. Thus, it can clearly be deducted that the negative bias of many is based on the proverbial “How much?” Vivos is very real, as are its shelters and tens of thousands of satisfied members, most of which are overwhelmed by the quality and attention to every detail, when they actually visit their shelter for the first time. Why is it that so many people have a problem with others obtaining security for their family and friends? The degree of attacks on Vivos credibility and business service is a bit revealing of the envy and close-minded egos that post such libelous statements, without any real or factual knowledge about the company and its underground shelters. The righteous hate is a clear confirmation that Vivos has succeeded in becoming both an urban legend and an international success that no other survival shelter company has achieved. The jealousy behind these anonymous attacks is also a subconscious admission that the poster truly believes that the prophesied catastrophes will in-fact occur in our near future. This subconscious fear manifests in hatred, envy and hostile responses by those in denial of this reality.

Trimmed article[edit]
