Interesting. The two astronauts/cosmonauts in the European Parliament are both communists: Umberto Guidoni and Vladimír Remek. – Kaihsu 18:40, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He later worked at the Czech embassy in Russia. or was it the Czechoslovak embassy in the USSR? --Explendido Rocha 15:12, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Czech embassy in Russia. rado 19:54, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Independent?

[edit]

Quoth the article:

an independent candidate for the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia and, being second on the list...

What does "independent" mean in this context? If he was on the Communist Party's list, surely he isn't independent, which would mean that he wasn't a member of any party, yes? --Jfruh (talk) 17:26, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, he wasn't. He was a member of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia till 1990. --Anglos (talk) 13:31, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Then can you explain what the "list" of referred to is? And just having been a former member of the Czechoslovak communist party doesn't make him a "candidate for the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia." --Jfruh (talk) 02:27, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
