Speaking Russian

[edit]

on at least one WWE televised event he spoke Russian. If anyone saw this and knows what he said, please add it. It doesnt even have to be exact

You wanna know what he said? Give me a video recording and I'll translate it for you literally. Seriously. I'm Russian and can speak it. PS: Kozlov spoke actual Russian, and that's what excited me since Nikolai Volkoff wasn't an actual Russian (he was from Croatia). Hoodie 04:05, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

anybody know whats next for prudius? he hasn't been on raw for two weeks already. WWE just stopped showing him after all those interviews. Just wondering whats wwe plans for him.

Protecting this article

[edit]

If these IPs continue to do all these bad edits I might get protection added to this article. Govvy 00:38, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Prudius is fluent in both Ukrainian and Russian, but can also speak perfect English very well." these bad bad editors obviously aren't.

Face/heel?

[edit]

Does anyone know what alignment this guy is? I get mixed feelings from the "segments" he shows up in but considering his matches are against faces I assume heel, right? It may be worth noting in the artical. Cosmic Larva 04:03, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because of crowd reaction, (crowd was very rude towards him, even know he was playing Face first time round.) he is going to be Heel. Govvy 12:24, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A cancelled push

[edit]

Vladimir Kozlov's main event heel push has been thrown out the window.

Nobody had anything bad to say about him at first, but after weeks of pushing him on television as a big deal, one road agent said that he wasn't close to being ready for what they were pushing him for. Every agent in the room then agreed with the person who spoke out. Vince McMahon then said something along the lines of, "(expletive), why are we pushing him them?" He then went on a long tirade about wasting television time on pushes for people who are going to ultimately fail. He then said that he only wants to give builds on TV to people who are ready to be stars now. McMahon was angry that they spent months on television pushing Kozlov, that nobody spoke out about the push, and then when the first person did, everyone agreed that he wasn't ready.

Kozlov segments were recently taken off of television. His WWE status is currently unknown.

Should we note that he's been taken off TV and his push is cancelled?Slayer425 05:14, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First of all you need post the source of this. Govvy 09:30, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, sorry. It's from here. Slayer425 00:26, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that is worth a mention on the article. Just leave it and wait and see. Govvy 11:15, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Acting

[edit]

According to IMDb, Oleg has a role in the new movie Grindhouse. --James Duggan 05:07, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds interesting, how many links can you find for the film? That can be source maybe. Govvy 10:05, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Check this out [1]. --James Duggan 01:33, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hmm, looks interesting, saw it said Test name there (Andrew Martin) also. I guess we can do a filmography section with a decent outside source. Govvy 09:16, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oleg's views.

[edit]

On the main page, there is a picture of him and a wrestling shirt on with the Coat of Arms of the Soviet Union on it. He was born in the former Soviet Union in the Russian SFSR, which was under communism for over 70 years, though is Oleg a communist? or is he trying to stur up dislike of himself? Thanks. 71.116.23.185 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 02:43, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He was born in Ukrainian SSR, not in RSFSR. And concerning his views I think that it's all just an image, part of the show, since WWE want to present him as a real "russian" to add some diversity to the show. Anyway, as far as I know he is a sambo and judo martial artist and WWE probably wanted to add some "spice" by giving him some image. And I think that suit with USSR's CoA is just a part of it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.46.216.134 (talk) 23:42, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of His Victories

[edit]

Why do you people keep on deleting his victories over people that are put on? They are cited and they are important because they're over former WWE Title holders (Funaki and Nunzio are former Cruiserweight Champs). Please quit deleting them.

It's a violation of the week-by-week rule. It's stupid but hey, it's the rules. --Kaizer13 (talk) 22:57, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's not stupid, it's a valid thing to do. Every match result isn't notable. RobJ1981 (talk) 06:37, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
His matches weren't put in weekly. They were mainly his important ones - Colin Delaney (his first victory over a contracted WWE superstar), Funaki (a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion), & Nunzio (a former two time WWE Cruiserweight Champion). He's like 10-0 and that's only three people, so, as I said, they weren't put in weekly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.214.135.98 (talk) 01:08, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
His first win is fine, but wins over former champions aren't. WWE is full of former champions. Every article would be cluttered with match results if we listed every win over former champions. RobJ1981 (talk) 00:31, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's not just that they're over former champions. These matches are his ones to show what he's got. If he's beating former champions in his first couple mathces, then that is worht mentioning. Besides, Funaki & Nunzio are good athletes as well, so it is worth being put on there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.214.135.98 (talk) 19:34, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't it just be easier to comprimise and say that he first began to squash local wrestlers before working his way through former Cruiserweight Champions, rather than listing each champion and how many times they've been champion like it is at the moment? Are Funaki and Nunzio good athletes? When was the last time Funaki cleanly won a match? Tony2Times (talk) 14:45, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Winning a match cleanly or not doensn't determine if he's a good athlete or not. Just because he doesn't get a push doesn't mean he isn't a good athlete. And your kind of late cause it's already been fixed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.39.255.105 (talk) 17:22, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

6'8"

[edit]

His wwe.com profile lists him as being 6'8", not 6'6" as it says on this article. Just wanted to point that out.--SergeiXXX (talk) 20:30, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Signature Move

[edit]

How about adding the Reverse DDT to his Signature/Finishing moves? He used it to end matches in the beginning of his Smackdown run and now uses it to make damage. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.64.2.67 (talk) 21:52, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You do realize this is an old move request that is no longer active? TJ Spyke 01:14, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that this move is old, but he's not even known as Vladimir Kozlov anymore. I think it's kind of pointless to keep his old ring name up since lesser known wrestlers (And by "lesser known" I mean in contrast to wrestlers like The Rock and The Undertaker who've gone by those names for years now and will probably never change them.) who, like in the case of Prudius, often have to change their names when they leave due to their name being copyrighted by their promotion. I personally think that it should just be changed to Oleg Prudius that way the page isn't under a name that he doesn't even go by anymore. Besides, if someone searches "Vladimir Kozlov" it will just re-direct them to this page regardless.--P.4.P. No. 1 (talk) 16:47, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Still, it doesn't matter whatever wrestling promotion Prudius will join, no wrestling promotion is more prominent in coverage than WWE. Prudius will be known to more people as Kozlov than other any other name. Therefore the article should retain his WWE ring name. Googling "Vladmir Kozlov" gives about 1,140,000 results. Googling "Oleg Prudius" gives 17,100 results. And that's the reason why this article's name should stay. Starship.paint (talk) 09:20, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Entrance

[edit]

The article states without attribution, "On the April 4, 2008 episode of SmackDown, Kozlov made his official WWE debut...having no entrance music and no TitanTron video...." But in his very first appearance on SmackDown he came out to audio of Nikolai Volkoff singing the Russian national anthem. The following week he started having no theme music. (I also have no attribution, other than I saw it and I know that's what happened.) Fitfatfighter (talk) 04:28, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, his first appearence had no audio at all: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_5__Yo56-g&feature=related . TJ Spyke 05:52, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Music

[edit]

Vladmir Kozlov's music is on the new WWE Vol 9 CD.--75.66.34.147 (talk) 00:17, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not to be rude, but so? His current theme is already listed in the "In wrestling" section. TJ Spyke 02:59, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New Nickname

[edit]

He has been called "The Cold War Cyborg" on ECW, by Matt Striker on numerous occasions.Shouldn't that be allowed on the page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.68.160.28 (talk) 14:54, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Source it. I don't recall him being called that, and Kozlov has only made a couple of appearences on ECW. TJ Spyke 21:58, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just adding that he was called that this week on ECW. Don't know if it will continue though. Until he is we probably don't need to include it.MephYazata (talk) 22:03, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I personally think WWF :ahem: WWE's ignorant mentality should finally leave the 80's. The "Red Scare" is over.JanderVK (talk) 15:54, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He was called The Cold War Cyborg in the Tri-Branded Battle Royal for the Money in the Bank qualifiying match. Seriously. You guys are so ignorant. Youtube it for gods sake! Figure it out sourself instead of "Find a reliable source." Seriously. Pathetic —Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.109.29.125 (talk) 16:49, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are obviously a kid or have the maturity of one. Insulting people and ignoring rules won't help you. TJ Spyke 15:48, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

They refer to him as the Soviet Cyborg on the May 30th Power 25. Maybe wait and see which one they decide to go with before adding it in. Kirby17 (talk) 06:00, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Seriously, I keep seeing Kozlov's age change from 33 to 40. Can we get a final answer? (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 154.20.166.10 (talk)

I am an OTRS volunteer who has been communicating with the subject. The 1972 birthdate is vandalism. The source that was cited says he was born in 1969, but that's wrong. He was born in 1979 according to personal communication from him, as well as his own web page. Unfortunately, we can't yet to link that webpage because it's currently attempting to install malware on the computer of whoever visits it. I have requested that he get this fixed before we link to that source. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:52, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unverified retirement claim

[edit]

The article claims that Kozlov retired in October 16, 2012. However, these sites[2][3] stated that he retired in less than a year since his departure from WWE on August 5, 2011. "Less than a year" means he cannot have retired later than August 5, 2012. Damselfly7 (talk) 23:55, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Kozlov wrestled 7 matches with IGF, the last was on October 16, 2012. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 13:06, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@21auto: Which original website you are talking about here. The source accompanying his birthdate says 1969 [4]. Get consensus here first instead of edit warring and bring reliable WP:PW/RS compliant sources. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:34, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I represent Oleg Prudius and as per Oleg, his year of burn is 1979. Please do not change it to 1969 as it is inaccurate. Thanks, — Preceding unsigned comment added by 21auto (talkcontribs) 12:36, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@21auto: Wikipedia doesn't work like that. You have to provide a reliable WP:PW/RS compliant source here in the talk page per WP:BURDEN. You or any other editor is not reliable per WP:UGC and Mr. Kozlov isn't either per WP:SPS. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:42, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Is Oleg Prudius himself is not reliable source to you? 21auto (talk) 12:52, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@21auto: Not per me, but per policies. Even Jimbo Wales can't add content about himself without reliable source in support. I'd like you to read through the guidelines I linked hre as well as in your welcoming message. I'd like to ping users @HHH Pedrigree, Discospinster, and *Treker: for inputs. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:57, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
We don't know that Oleg himself is making the claim. We don't know who you are or whether you actually speak for him. One solution would be to omit the birthdate altogether. ... discospinster talk 15:05, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

1, anyone can claim to be a manager, but it doesn't work. Right now, the source points 1969. Also, I barely remember somewhere... I think wikipedia talked with him and he answer. There is such a record of this? --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 17:28, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

how old is he?
