Major Rewrite[edit]

This article really ought to be rewritten from the ground up. As it is, it's full of redundancies and terrible grammar. Kouban (talk) 00:23, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

...Not only that, the article lacks certain citations. Someone should provide adequate and factual sources as well. Duagrentia (talk) 08:38, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Voltes 5 is such a very significant part of the Philippine's history, right... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.54.29.68 (talk) 23:35, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

More accurately, Voltes V was a significant part of Philippine popular culture of the late 1970s. Titus III (talk) 01:59, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Chōdenji Machine Voltes VVoltes V – As per WP:COMMONNAME and WP:CONCISE. Its commonly known as Voltes V in English in the Philippines. Not sure if this is the common name in the rest of the English world, that's why I started this discussion. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 10:09, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Strongly Oppose. All wikipedia articles are basically Neutral Point of View, it doesn't matter if the series has a big following somewhere some rules needs to be adhere so it won't cross into stupid fancruft.--BlackGaia02 (talkpage if you dare) (talk) 04:57, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Support per nom. From a quick search, the WP:COMMONNAME in sources appears to be overwhelmingly just "Voltes V". For example: [1][2][3] I'm not really sure what the above oppose is saying. There is no NPOV issue here, just the name that is commonly used in sources.  — Amakuru (talk) 11:10, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral POV rewrite.[edit]

This article is more becoming of a mess since the introduction of the live action series in the Philippines. I want things to go to the neutral point and never point it to one country's POV of the series. It deserves a from a ground up rewrite.--BlackGaia02 (talkpage if you dare) (talk) 05:04, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I removed some of the info for now. Clearly the anime series has historic notability on the Philippines pop culture but I agree it is giving WP:UNDUE weight to the this article. I suggest reviving the Voltes V: Legacy standalone article and place the Philippine-specific info on there since the impact of the original anime on that country's popular culture in the 1970s is the reason why a local national network is going out of its way to create a live action adaptation in the first place. @Hariboneagle927:Well it Looks a lot cleaner now so yeah that's more acceptable.--BlackGaia02 (talkpage if you dare) (talk) 10:04, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Blackgaia02: and @Hariboneagle927:: Apologies, sirs. I neglected to read the talk page more carefully and only noticed this conversation now. I shortened and returned some part of the removed section, because I thought it was just a matter of shortening. I did not know there was a discussion here. Although I do really think there ought to be a section about the original anime's cultural and political impact in the Philippines. It is a major part of why the show (the original, not just the live remake) became iconic in the first place. - MistahPeemayer (talk) 15:38, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
