the fastest[edit]

Matthew, that's the fastest I've ever seen a new episode page go up. Good catch and nice work. 205.188.116.71 23:51, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do this by typing four ~ after your comment. It is getting tiresome to keep tagging everything here. WarFighter 19:19, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Then quit. It's almost as annoying to the rest of us as it is when some g00ber goes and adds cite requests every three sentences on data that's common knowledge :-P Sixty Six 05:16, 2 December 2006 (UTC)66.90.151.114 07:40, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dead Rising?[edit]

In the AUS advertisement, there looks like zombies walking, and the narrarator saying "they're living proof Jericho is not alone". Any comments? --MetalGearD2006 04:58, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't the AUS advertisement also have a line like "the dead walk" or something similar? It was ambiguous enough to just be hinting that characters thought dead will turn up, but with the "zombie people" you pointed out it could be more.--Something unpredictable 14:21, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Either it's a dream sequence, or they've decided to deliberately not only jump the shark early, but aim straight for the teeth, then build the plot around a resurrected corpse :-) Sixty Six 05:32, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The Australian advertsiements have been absolute lying crap so far anyway. "The people of Jericho thought they were the only ones left" (no they didn't), "The bombs were jsut the beginning... this [Ravenwood showing up at the bridge] is the beginning of PHASE TWO!" Blah. Hyped up bullshit to try and get more viewers. Battle Ape 09:43, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No zombies in this episode. Only living folk. A305w 02:16, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cliffhanger[edit]

Who else thinks the "cliffhanger" is going to hinge on the results of the mayoral election? 208.39.173.53 22:03, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Having seen the episode, it has multiple cliffhangers, none of which are the election.A305w 02:03, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

IT BEGINS WITH DIE AND ENDS WITH...[edit]

Any ideas on that piece? Geez...even the Morse code has cliffhangers!!!  :-) WarFighter 01:34, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, the word "die" in there could also be "tis"...but with the crappy way they send Morse code, that whole string of dots and dashes for the entire word was sent as the number "6" (-····), so... WarFighter 01:39, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What if "It begins with 6 and ends with 6, and there's another 6 in the middle"? Or, for that matter, "It begins with 6 and ends with 9"?  :-) --Psiphiorg 01:51, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well...yep, "6" makes as much sense as "die", I think...Shall I change it? I guess if they send two "6"'s next time, then we'll know. I wonder if CBS would hire me to send their code?  :-) WarFighter 02:00, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I would go with six: IT BEGINS WITH SIX AND ENDS WITH makes more sense (not much more) than die. A305w 02:08, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Man, I don't know anymore...let me listen to it again...It is "6". I'll change it now. BTW, minor detail but they sent the numeral "6"...not "six"...Bah -- I need a pizza now.  :-) WarFighter 02:40, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, six works. Good job with the morse code. You deserve a pizza. A305w 03:16, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Brainstorm! In spite of all that was said i think tonights' code means that only 6 bombs exploded at first. The crisis will end with.... BTW, how many cities were on the chinese map? i can't seem to find it again here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mike allegretto (talkcontribs)

OK, here's another brainstorm, just for fun... let's presume two things: one, that "Crossroads" was "NOV SURPRISE" (one of the debated possibilities), meaning "November surprise"; and two, that the numeric "6" is meant to represent either two "3"s, or "33" (new sentence indicator in DOT CODE) or the "sixth element" of International Morse Code (a long gap between sentences.) Combine that with the text messages at the beginning and end of the cliffhanger show and you get:

NOV SURPRISE
IT BEGINS WITH
Traitor Identified
AND ENDS WITH
See you soon

Thoughts? (grin) --Ckatzchatspy 11:13, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The letter "A" is .- (dot dash) The letter "N" is -. (dash dot) How would we confuse AOV with NOV? They sent AOV (unless they made a mistake). I learned Morse code in 1990 and have never seen "6" used to represent "33". I think your theory may be a bit contrived. Please do not take offense...I just think it would be a big stretch. All other times, they have been sending standard International Morse Code. Why would they switch to this dot code all the sudden? I have also never sent "6" to refer to a long gap between sentences. There are other codes for this in International Morse Code...the prosign BT, for example. WarFighter 15:39, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No offense to be taken - it's all just for fun. "NOV" was one of the ideas tossed around as possible interpretations on the "Crossroads" talk page, although it was dismissed IIRC because it didn't make sense. ("A third option to be considered is "NOV SURPRISE", with a flip of the first dot and dash (-. = N). It still isn't very satisfactory because it's not compellingly obvious.") All of this is speculation anyways, as we cast about trying to figure what the producers are trying to say! --Ckatzchatspy 16:33, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What number of the 12 crates dropped was the generator? wasnt the generator crate drop number 6? If that is the case, then the loss of the generator could have started the problems for jonah and they end with that usurper getting killed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.105.170.254 (talkcontribs)
Couldn't it also refer to episode 6? As in the important happenings in it (namely the EMP)? Therefore it goes to reason that it begins with the EMP and ends with.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.54.240.28 (talkcontribs)

The Countdown webisodes start with episode 6 68.37.229.165 00:02, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It has been suggested that the '6' refers to the six presidents, first heard about in Black Jack (Jericho episode). But that is speculation of course. -- Chuq 05:36, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Google Earth?[edit]

Couldn't it possibly be some sort of government sattelite. Hawkins is definetly not working with a group of people looking at google earth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.13.122.245 (talkcontribs)

Yes, you're right...it's not Google Earth. They do not have real-time imagery (real-time as in one or two days old). I can't really say much, but only high-level government agencies (currently) can obtain imagery that current and to anywhere near that resolution. That whole Google Earth type view where he was zooming in was bogus anyway. It doesn't work like that. WarFighter 04:13, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
i just assumed it was an animation set up by his conspirators that used google earth screenshots just to prove their point (to make him afraid as well) and did those pixelation fades and zoomed into an image of their own at the end. --202.161.8.182 22:27, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hawkins didnt zoom in, his (ex)buddies sent him a slideshow of the pics they took. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mike allegretto (talkcontribs)

I cannot discuss this further...sorry. WarFighter 15:39, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Someone on the CBS wiki said that they thought they could spot the damage from the bombs on the sat pic sent to hawkins a second before they sent him the pic of him and his son. Does anyone have a high quality scan of this shot?Mike allegretto 16:56, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I went back on innertube and paused on each map image. From what I could see, there was nothing distinguishable about the areas that were affected by the bombs. I looked especially at KC and Denver, and I couldn't see anything like a big glowing neon "Nuked" sign.--69.143.69.249 22:42, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hmmm ok. someone said that in the area that San Diego is that there was water where normally the city should be. If you can post a cap of the pic and lessee if we can pick out geo anomolies. Mike allegretto 01:07, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think i uploaded correctly 3 images of the sat pics. please let me know if i did it correctly. i got these from the cbs wiki forum. thanks!Mike allegretto 21:08, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What the pics sent to Hawkins do show is where the power is still on. Theres an awful lot on Nw of Seattle and along the coastal areas. Interestingly the whole DC area is lit up like an X-mas tree with no big circle of darkness where the blast should have happened. NYC, reported to survive, is barely lit up. If the Big Apple had been spared it would have been a major focus of recovery efforts from both domestic and foreign sources. Since there is barely a light on be reminded of the morse code clue "pray for NYC". if it had been spared there would have been no need for such an ominous warning.Mike allegretto 02:23, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting observation about DC and NYC. I wonder if Gray ever really made it very far, anyway. He could have hid out and made stuff up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.139.186.74 (talkcontribs)

How long do you think you could survive in NYC with 6 million neighbors, no electrictly, no cars, no money, no food. If your not killed in the rioting, you might get eaten by one of of those alligators that crawl around in the sewers.208.131.51.27 17:12, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It could also be an oversight by CBS. :p 24.77.160.66 05:11, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Did Mitch actually kill Gracie?[edit]

Mitch putting knife to Dale in the store:

"This has nothing to do with Jonah, don't make the same mistake that Gracie made. I get half the cut, or those people out there are going to be putting flowers and candles on the sidewalk for you. See you tommorow, and the next day, and the next day..."

Dale to the Mayor and Jake outside of the mayor's office:

"Mayor, Caferti did it...he killed Gracie...he said if I refused to give him a cut of the store he'd do to me what he did to Gracie."

Jake in Jonah's the prison cell to Gray:

"Mitch just told him he would do to him what he did to Gracie if he didn't go along with him."

Mitch never actually admits that he killed Gracie. 69.150.212.214 07:27, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
