FeanorStar7, your edit surprises me. I know nothing about this person, but in its final state before I edited it, the draft said:

• "William Walker Morris (March 11, 1832 – circa 1881)"
• "Died 1 January 1867 – 31 March 1867"
• "One [of his works], "Stalking on the Highlands," suggests that he lived until 1871, challenging the common understanding that he had died in 1867. Another work, “Terriers,” shows a date of 1874 by the artist’s signature.[8] Yet another work, “Scotties on a Summit” [9] reports a date of 1881. / In the England & Wales, Civil Registration Death Index, 1837-1915, William Walker Morris is reported to have died in the January-March period of 1867 in Wandsworth, London, England."

Hoary: thanks for your message. Ok, that was my fault; I was focused on the last paragraph; so based on the other evidence given; I think the death category should be changed to 19th-century deaths and a year of death uncertain category added, since there are multiple possibilities. I also think the last paragraph should be aligned/joined with the paragraph above it, which you've cited; and I will take out the death date in the infobox; do you agree? --FeanorStar7 (talk) 13:28, 10 June 2022 (UTC)

@Hoary: @FeanorStar7: As this is my first approved article, I would welcome your input as to whether it is appropriate to designate his death location considering the W. W. Morris who died in in Wandsworth in 1867 may or may not be the same person? Ponziwatcher (talk) 19:35, 11 June 2022 (UTC)

Ponziwatcher, as I understand it, somebody called W. W. Morris died in Wandsworth in 1867; and it's likely (not at all certain) that he was our man -- but it's also quite possible that our W. W. Morris died later; and if he did then we have no evidence that he did so in Wandsworth. If I'm right, then the article shouldn't give the impression that he died in Wandsworth in an unknown year; rather, readers should infer that he died either in 1867 (in Wandsworth) or later (place unknown). -- Hoary (talk) 23:43, 11 June 2022 (UTC)

His name

Ponziwatcher, your draft repeatedly referred to the fellow as "W. W. Morris". Was this simply your preference (perhaps in order to avoid confusion with the hugely better known William Morris), or was/is he better known as "W. W. Morris" than as "William Morris" (let alone as "William Walker Morris")? -- Hoary (talk) 23:57, 10 June 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for asking and thanks very much for accepting my first article to Wikipedia. This was an enjoyable experience. As for the decision, I did strive for disambiguazioni with the better known William Morris, but also as a means to align the name with how he signed his works, which appears to me to always be W. W.
