Ratings[edit]

The claim that WVUE was consistently 3rd in local ratings is not sourced and possibly overstated. If you can produce links to WVUE's Nielsen ratings or trade magazine articles for the 1970s-1980s, please link to them. Otherwise, this claim is invalid and should be removed. WJMR/WVUE not 3rd Station in Louisiana[edit]

I believe KFAZ, Channel 43 in Monroe was #3 in Louisiana...take a look at the 54/55 Telecasting Yearbook listings for Louisiana... http://www.davidgleason.com/Archive%20BC-YB/1954-1955%20TV/101-200%20BC%20TV%20Annual%201954-55.pdf KFAZ (pg 144) was on the air 11 Aug 53, WJMR (pg 146) was on the air 1 Nov 53. These reference imply that in 1957 WJMR-TV operated on Channel 20 while simultaneously broadcasting as KK2XFW-TV on Channel 12.

To the best of my memory for a while KK2XFW-TV broadcast on Channel 13 until WLOX-TV went on the air and station returned to channel 12 where eventually WJMR-TV was assigned to Channel 12 72.204.152.47 (talk) 16:56, 26 May 2009 (UTC) J.R.Bentley[reply]

I have a run of Louisiana edition TV Guides. WVUE changed from 13 to 12 in 1962. In Feb. they are still on 13, but by Sept. they have moved to 12. My earliest Louisiana TV Guide is from November of 1960 and the call letters listed are WVUE. They were not WJMR until 1965 as listed in this article. I've been researching 50's North Louisiana and East Texas TV, and have run across this resource... http://www.davidgleason.com/Broadcasting_Yearbook_Summary_Page.htm Try looking in the 54/55 and 57/58 telecasting Yearbooks at the end of the listing, and the 1960 and later Broadcasting yearbooks (which include TV) at the beginning. Retro TV Subchannel[edit]

Your article states that WVUE is adding a digital subchannel for Retro TV. But I've tried to find an 8.3 or Retro TV and could find neither. PSIP[edit]

Someone is changing the phrasing of virtual channel references from "Through the use of PSIP" to "However". This reduces the quality of the article as it suggests that it is unknown how a virtual channel is established. The editor should identify him/herself and explain the merits of this change. Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material[edit]

Hello, Please do not add unreferenced names as entries to the list of former employees in articles. Including this type of material in articles does not abide by current consensus and its inclusion is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:

WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
WP:Source list tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.

If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). If a preexisting article is already in the encyclopedia for the person you want to add to a list, it's generally regarded as sufficient to support their inclusion in list material in another article. 70.48.216.22 (talk) 19:07, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I added "also known as Fox 8", because I believe it is. I came here related to putting a Fox 8 source into Winnsboro, Louisiana article. And WVUE-DT is listed in Fox 8 (disambiguation).
