Atlantic City[edit]

If it is a Philadelphia market station then why is it listed as being licensed to Atlantic City, New Jersey? According to the article the studios and offices are in Philly and the transmitter is in Ocean County (at least an hour or more from Atlantic City). Can someone research this and confirm that WWSI is actually licensed to AC. TheGoofyGolfer (talk) 03:46, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

FCC records show WWSI's city of license as Atlantic City — that's about as official a confirmation as you can get. Transmitter location and studio location isn't as heavily tied to the nominal city of license as it once was… --WCQuidditch 00:17, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I should also note that Atlantic County, New Jersey, the county Atlantic City is in, is considered part of the Philadelphia market (and the station's service contour apparently is close enough to Philadelphia to trigger must-carry); the other station licensed to Atlantic City, WMCN-TV, is also aimed at Philadelphia (while WMGM-TV, licensed to Wildwood, is in practice the only local station for Atlantic City among full-service stations). --WCQuidditch 00:26, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
