Actually, a small area of Belgium (Bastogne, Martelange) does drain off into the Rhine and Waal, mostly via the Sûre and Mosel, but it's hardly relevant (Removing Belgium from that list). More important is the pollution by heavy metals, slowly being released from the sediments where they had become trapped in times when pollution was far worse.
