I have been adding information to this page a lot lately, so please feel free to edit the text. The source for my information is http://www.wahpeton.com, which I have included a link to on all of the sections I have edited. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cman024 (talkcontribs)

Copyright?

[edit]

I am highly concerned with the material that 24.220.28.54/Cman024 recently put in the article. It comes directly from two URLs: this one and this one. Although the article does mention that the material is taken from wahpeton.com, do other users find it troubling to see so much material copied word-for-word from an external website to this article? I know I do. --MatthewUND(talk) 09:09, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that copying word for word should be avoided, especially to the extent it is done in this article. Because if is taken directly from the city website, I think that would tend to make it non-NPOV as well. In fact, the article does seem to lack a NPOV. Statements such as "It is a community with a future", "a city that boasts the most modern medical center in the area", and "The area is a virtual paradise for the outdoorsman and hunter" do not seem to belong in an encyclopedia article. 146.23.68.24

Jim Sturdevant

[edit]

The official website says Jim Sturdevant is the mayor. Where can I add his name? CheepnisAroma (talk) 23:43, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the word "obese" as a description for officer Dustin Hill in this section. It wasn't necessary given the context of the situation. I'm sort of on the fence about the notability of the incident described here (I don't doubt it might become notable, maybe it already is, I don't know) but this section is going to need a citation. I would do it, but it's 4:40am here and I honestly don't know enough about it. I didn't want to outright delete the section though until someone else could weigh in on it. There's a video going around about this story but I don't know any other appropriate sources that cover it right now. BrainDance (talk) 08:46, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
