Incomplete Tasks

[edit]
  1. According to one source, the Kuroshio Ichiba is the largest fish market in Japan. This claim needs research/verification before inclusion.
  2. The land occupied by the iron ride park (see Porto Europa, Iron Ride Park) was never supposed to have been used that way. After the closure of the Expo, it was to be developed as upscale condos, apartments, and town homes. This can be seen in numerous renderings and descriptions scattered about the references. The iron ride development was a stopgap. MID, the owner/developer, apparently carried a very substantial debt load. This caused MEI, their parent, to eventually take them over, and sell off their assets. This would explain the lack of housing development. Google Earth does show some development on the north of the island which could be apartments or condominiums. No written reference has been found so far, but this information is almost certainly in Japanese.
  3. One source has suggested the Marina breakwater is unique in Japan as the only one which allows public access. This will require verification. Oddjob84 (talk) 09:10, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Oddjob84 Perhaps the subsection Iron Ride Park & Japan Expo should be above Minor Attractions? Just a thought.  — Myk Streja (when?) 19:24, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Probably not. The Iron Ride Park is bigger than Porto Europa. As well, I have an image to insert for the Expo, and a second image for the Minor Attractions, which will frame the text for those two Headings between the images. Oddjob84 (talk) 12:35, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I misunderstood your question. Still probably not, the minor attractions are part of Porto Europa, where the Iron Ride Park is sort of a separate entity. Oddjob84 (talk) 12:38, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Then perhaps you should jump the header section up one level for Iron Ride? I could do it so you understand what I'm saying, and you revert it if I'm offbase.  — Myk Streja (aack!) 22:27, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, let's try it. I think I'm looking at a bunch of trees, where you are seeing the forest. Oddjob84 (talk) 23:52, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
 Done  — Myk Streja (aack!) 03:11, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that's better. Oddjob84 (talk) 11:52, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Categories

[edit]

Oddjob84 I managed to find a couple of categories that seemed to fit the article in a general way. Maybe someone with HotCat will come by and do a better, or more thorough job of it.  — Myk Streja (what?) 02:13, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It looks appropriate. I already "turned on" the link in List of islands of Japan. Is there one in Resort towns that needs attention? Oddjob84 (talk) 12:38, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Go to this link: Holiday Village. Does that look like what WMC is about? If so we could list this under Category:Holiday villages  — Myk Streja (when?) 19:49, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It does not seem to match the definition. Oddjob84 (talk) 12:30, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Oddjob84: I found this Category:Amusement park attractions. Check it out and see if it fits. It doesn't have to refer to the whole article: just parts of it works. If that doesn't work, try Category:Amusement parks.  — Myk Streja (who,me?) 22:28, 3 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Myk Streja: Both do fit, and in multiple places. For example, there is a subcategory for Arrow Dynamics rides, which doesn't have High Dive. There is another for rides by country; there are three in the article which fit. And, probably, so on... I didn't look at everything. Oddjob84 (talk) 23:26, 3 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Oddjob84: Okay, I'll install the first one here, the second is precluded as the parent of the first. Policy regarding categories states that the deepest subcategory should be applied. There is also a policy about over categorizing. Placing several child categories on a page is nice but overwhelming.  — Myk Streja (who,me?) 00:21, 4 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
