Deleted How-to section material

[edit]

I deleted a few paragraphs of how-to material per WP:NOTAHOWTO. It didn't look to me like the material could really be reworked into a straightforward description of wakeskating. The tricks I left in since they weren't blatant how-tos, but another set of eyes might want to take a look & see whether they need rewriting to make them more descriptive and less instructive. Unusual Wakeskate picture

[edit]

there is an unusual wakeskating picture at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bundesarchiv_Bild_102-12062,_Wasserreiter_mit_Magnesiumfackeln.jpg that the folks editing this page may want to include in the article.

Beside the scary aspect of being on the water with burning magnesium, this image is also notable for it's age, being from July 1931. Kid Bugs —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.215.58.101 (talk) 19:11, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wake Skim

[edit]

The Wakeskating page currently includes a section titled 'Wake Skim'. The external site that this section references is actually a description of Wakesurfing. Rather than remove the text, I felt I should open to discussion as to where it belongs. Does it stay here / move to Wakesurf page / just delete it?

It's fair to say that this idea is somewhere between wakeskating and wakesurfing, but then I've seem people "wakeskate" on the deck of a skateboard (minus the trucks) and the front off a kitchen drawer. I'm not sure there's any point having one whole section dedicated to skating on something not designed for skating. We could list all sorts of slightly flat items.

I also note that the wording of this 'Wake Skim' section does appear to contain opinion of the contributor and statements in the first person. upfall (talk) 23:25, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Wakeskating. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Notability

[edit]

I have removed an unjustified notability template. The briefest search through Google (use the News tab) shows notability. I don't feel like rewriting this article at the moment, but the placement of a notability template is gross negligence in WP:BEFORE. There is no legitimate prima facie reason to doubt the notability of this topic.
