Not a full review, but this hook must be shortened because it's 223 characters long; the absolute maximum length for a single-article hook is 200 characters. We can reduce the hook to 191 characters by removing "(otherwise called III Æthelred)" (which doesn't need to be bold anyway). The character limit notwithstanding, this parenthetical actually makes the hook more unwieldy to read and doesn't add much to the interestingness of the hook. The article is fresh and not just long enough but also appears to be comprehensive. The cited sources are of the highest quality. Spot checks have not indicated any close paraphrasing (not that I would expect any from Deacon of Pndapetzim). The hook source link does not work but I was able to verify it in other places. The penance for old sins being a possible motivation seemed very interesting to me, so I wonder if it could be incorporated into the hook. I would recommend (though it is not required for DYK) the use of Template:Sfn for citing sources because it links the notes to the bibliography. Thanks, Surtsicna, appreciate the comments! The reference in question, I'm not sure why it's suddenly down. The Early English Laws project is/was an AHRC funded resource developed by King's College/University of London to be an online resource, but when the money ran out they stopped properly maintaining it (so often this is the case with these projects!), which led to John Hudson at St Andrews getting St Andrews to take it over and restore it. This meant that the content from the original London website was duplicated on the St Andrews website but formatted differently. Possibly the London link being down is temporary, but it may be that the transfer has concluded as this nomination has been live.
