I'm just wondering what this redirect is for and why was 1999 mentioned in the infobox as the time when WACR started operations (I fixed the latter)? To my knowledge they started right in 1980. (Also according to the American Shortline Railway Guide). If anyone has a reliable source that they didn't operate between 1980 and 1999, please let me know (and move the article to the right lemma then). --Thogo(Talk)Some thoughts about enwiki 00:57, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That was my mistake, but I've just expanded the article and they did in fact discontinue service in 1999, with a new company taking over later that year. --NE2 00:50, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ah cool, thanks. Is it sure that the old company was dissolved in 1999 and the VRS founded a new subsidiary with that name? (At least that is how I understand the article.) Lindsell 2000 (The Rail Lines of Northern New England., Branch Line Press, Pepperell MA) says on p. 324 that "On February 2, 1999, the Washington County assigned its lease to the New England Central RR, who operated the line until September 8." Nothing about a new WACR founded then. --Thogo(Talk)Some thoughts about enwiki 18:57, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
