Is the fourth wave section necessary?[edit]

The article is about waves of democracy, there has been no fourth wave, that section just talks about a number of tangentially related topics - the arab spring, the example of Egypt, the effect of digital media. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.173.122.255 (talk) 02:50, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Should the 2020 protests be included in this article?[edit]

It seems that the blm movement largely stands for prejudice, racism, discrimination and bigotry. These are not traits of democracy, but rather just the opposite. These were not protests, they were riots, and did absolutely nothing to advance democracy. It is pitiful that wikipedia has become a space of activism. 2013 protests in Ukraine[edit]

I suppose that Euromaidan in 2013-2014 should be included despite the fact it doesn't fit in any of mentioned waves. 176.36.187.17 (talk) 13:45, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
