Kabini Delta?[edit]

I am not sure if the term Delta is appropriate for channels of the Kabini. The River delta page to which the term links says that a delta is where where a river flows into the sea. This is definitely not the case with the Kabini. The situation is more of a broad river with low islands in it. I don't know if someone knows a better term than delta, but I think we need something more appropriate (or a change in the River delta article). --BostonMA 16:15, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

District & Hill station[edit]

In my knowledge there is no hill station by the name Wayanad. So the disamiguation page is redundant and should be deleted (Saraths 12:34, 13 July 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Article Improvement[edit]

I have re-arranged the article to fit it in to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Indian districts guidelines. Now, there is enough room for the improvement of the article. Happy editing; Cheers -- Rajith Mohan (Talk to me..) 14:16, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bias[edit]

The article had the following sentences that have been removed because of bias. Although this might be true, it needs to be rewritten as if it were written factually not like it would be written on an activist's website:

Colonists from south Kerala have ravaged Wynad's environment. Thanks to their greed and anti-nature views, large areas of valuable forest cover have disappeared. So is case with animal wealth fauna which was once plentiful in Wynad Plateau.

Please read Neutral point of view for more information.

Repeated Vandalising of proper sourced Kannada information of Wayanad district and other related Wiki articles[edit]

Hi Yamaguchi先生, I would like to bring to your kind and immediate attention, the repeated and selective vandalising of Kannada sources of Wayanad district, its history and related articles by user Boschanot on 17:16, 8 January 2022, etc. and adding non-referenced Malayalam information in their place for these articles.

User adds an entire section in history titled 'Carnatic invasions into Wayanad' which is appalling as there wasn't any invasion of Carnatic or Kannada people into Wayanad. Wayanad/Bayanad was always ruled by Kannada kingdoms, dynasties and empires since 4th century CE - 1801 CE when British took away Bayanad/Wayanad from Mysore Wodeyar king and placed them under their direct rule in Madras presidency division.

Few illustrations of such vandalism: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wayanad_district&type=revision&diff=1064495447&oldid=1039169865

This is highly condemnable on a free source like Wiki and completely against its rules and standards. Kindly take appropriate action at the earliest. I'm reverting the 'undoing of my properly sourced and referenced content edits' done by this user.

Request you to kindly see and verify that this user has a history of such vandalism and impose appropriate punitive actions and/or ban the user permanently or as suitable. NitinBhargava2016 (talk) 15:49, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
