FAW Championship[edit]

@Zanoni: I see that you have updated promotion to, to show FAW Championship instead of FAW Championship North & Mid. However the Welsh Alliance League is based in North and Mid Wales, therefore wouldn't it make sense to keep it as FAW Championship North & Mid? The problem with FAW Championship is that you are taking into account the whole of Wales instead of the specific region. So anyone clicking on FAW Championship are going to have to then click on an FAW Championship North & Mid link on that article just to get to the right region. Just feels very long winded. What do you think? Onshore (talk) 21:25, 13 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Onshore:Thanks for your thoughts and interest!
I did think about this - having created the FAW Championship North & Mid and FAW Championship South & Mid pages in effect to replace the Cymru Alliance and Welsh League Division One structure that it was easier to keep them just as two pages, especially with the North & Mid having promotion from the three Tier 3 leagues in North/ Mid Wales (whilst the South/ Mid had just the WL Division 1/2/3 under it.)
The rationale for the seperate FAW Championship page was as follows (1) in terms of showing promotion/ relegation from the WPL and from the four regionally based leagues, seemed easier to direct to one page (2) The FAW restructure for 19/20 is set to be extended to Tier 3 for 20/21 so could be more commonality (but that is a bit of WP:CRYSTAL I guess). If it makes it easier, I am happy to delete the FAW Championship page and keep the original plan of FACN&M and FACS&M? 08:06, 14 May 2019 (UTC)
@Zanoni: Thank you for your reply.
I don't think you need to delete the FAW Championship page as that links that both FAW Championship North & Mid and FAW Championship South & Mid is basically the same division just that there is a North and South split, which is like The Third and Forth Division in the Football League back in the 1950s for example.
However, I still think we need to retain links to FAW Championship North & Mid and FAW Championship South & Mid for promotions to on the respective tier 3 league pages. So like this page for example, I would revert back to Promotion to FAW Championship North & Mid as that is the correct regional division that the promoted team will be playing in the following season.
But I'd defiantly keep the FAW Championship page more as an introduction to the new tier 2 format with a summary of FAW Championship North & Mid and FAW Championship South & Mid and it can be used as relegation from Welsh Premier League. The FAW Championship North & Mid and FAW Championship South & Mid pages can be in more detail.
What do you think on this suggestion? Onshore (talk) 21:00, 15 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again - yes happy with that suggestion and I have made the changes on the three North Wales/ Mid Wales feeder leagues. 12:14, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
@Zanoni: Thanks for the reply and making the changes to the feeder leagues. Onshore (talk) 12:58, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
