Criticisms[edit]

The brief statement on criticisms, with references, has been deleted under auspices of WP:RS - however, criticisms are referenced using a National Post article, which seems to be both a "reliable, published source" and a "significant minority view." The criticism does not invalidate the work or the author's aims, but rather is leveled at his methodology, which is relevant. Dingdongwitchisdead (talk) 01:25, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am not even seeing any mention of this novel in the National Post article. Furthermore, the author is not, as far as I can tell, an expert; why should his personal opinions about this be WP:DUE to weigh equal to the higher-quality news coverage you're trying to compare it to? Finally, a single opinion piece is not a "significant" view - it's the opinion of one random person. The goal for a reception section is to weigh significant reception, not to list every opinion anyone holds everywhere. If it's a significant opinion, find other RSes that carry it. But either way, neither source (not the non-WP:RS nor the national post) even mentions Boyden's novel once, so how could they possibly be appropriate here? --Aquillion (talk) 23:40, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
