Ordinal number of Bishops of Armidale

[edit]

I corrected Wentworth-Sheilds' "number" from first to second Bishop of Armidale. His predecessor, H.E. Cooper had been Bishop of Grafton and Armidale until 1914, then was designated first Bishop of Armidale following the division of the diocese. Check out the board in St Peter's Cathedral. Also, the memorial plaque on the sanctuary wall near the cathedra in St Peter's describes J.S. Moyes as "Third Bishop of Armidale". That would confirm that Wentworth-Sheilds was second, and Cooper first. Anglicant (talk) 01:04, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Use of first Christian name

[edit]

Can anyone verify that W-S used his second Christian name? My understanding was that he was known as "Wentworth".

My grandmother's confirmation certificate was signed "Wentworth Armidale". Anglicant (talk) 00:14, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

without looking, so... , his dad was Francis, he was Wentworth, and the hyphenated surname appeared later --Dave Rave (talk) 05:35, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Francis Wentworth-Sheilds. Please take a moment to review my edit. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
