Anthony Hopkins
[edit]I heard this once too, but I'm not so sure. Can anyone come up with a source? --88.110.109.189 18:45, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
I am an old West Monian. Hopkins boarded there (well before my time), but he hated it - this has been documented in various biographies of his. As a result, it is not something that was ever widely publicised.
Other famous alumni who are missing are: Bryn Meredith Newport, Wales and British Lions Hooker I'm sure Lord Sterling was a guest at prize day and was introduced as an old boy. The benefactor A E Stevens must deserve a mention too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.132.128.25 (talk) 13:56, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Best Grammar School in Monmouthshire
[edit]This claim is contentious and cannot be easily proved.
I suggest that it is modified to read 'one of the best...'
I agree. Someone has suggested on Youtube that one of the science teachers is a crackpot, and nobody has defended him. That cannot be good for the morale of the pupils. They must be wondering whether they can trust what they are taught. FTGHSmith (talk) 22:24, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Removal of picture
[edit]I took and uploaded a picture of the school. Why has it been removed? Surely there should be a picture. User:Benbristol 22:24, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
- It was removed as part of a vandalism edit here. I've reinstated it. Ghmyrtle (talk) 22:04, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
