The result of this discussion was page merged. While they aren't exactly the same, they don't seem distinct enough from each other to justify separate pages. Those knowledgable can revise the page to make the distinction more clear. D O N D E groovilyTalk to me 04:54, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Westcotes and West End of Leicester appear to be about the same place, and should probably be merged (I'm not sure which name is more appropriate). —Snigbrook 07:53, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, the Westcotes (and adjacent Danet's Hall) estate covered a much bigger area that what recently (late 20th C.?) has become known as the West End of Leicester: the historic name is much more appropriate. From Medieval times Westcotes and Danet's Hall were part of the Leicester extramural settlement of Bromkinsthorpe but this was absorbed into the expanding Leicester in the 19th C. - Patrick Boylan
