I think the common name for most people* is "oh is there a public holiday next week/month, what's it for and why is it a week before the rest/most of Australia has one"

Date format on parliament website[edit]

At the risk of being a bit offtopic for a Wikipedia talk page ...

I added the reference to the parliament website for the bill, but I notice that in my browser (Firefox 11.0 on Windows XP SP2) the Progress dates appear as mm/dd/yyyy, ie "back-to-front" for Australians. (My PC's regional date display setting is currently yyyy-mm-dd, but I get the same problem if I set it to dd-mm-yyyy.) I've reported the problem here; the IT people say it appears correct for them, but have asked for more info to help track the problem down. I've provided browser details etc, but if anyone else has the same problem (dates displayed mm/dd/yyyy) could they please also report the problems, with browser details, to the Feedback page. This may help resolve the problem - which will help all the Australians who read our Wikipedia article and want to check the refs! Never mind, it's fixed now. My Firefox was configured (under Tools, Options, Languages) to display English/US in preference to English or English/Australian - probably because originally I downloaded the US version (many versions ago, when it was probably the only version available).
