Untitled[edit]

I don't consider myself a wikipedia editor, but I know that a statement in this article is false. It says that Western State Hospital in Washington is the largest mental health facility west of the Mississippi River at 806 beds. I know that at least one state mental hospital in California (Atascadero 1207 beds) is bigger. John Saunders js4015@cox.net

I added information about current controversies that have been in the news, but to be forthcoming issues were brought to light to me personally as a juror in a civil commitment trial filed by Western State Hospital in which a psychiatrist at the hospital testified about the serious staffing issues being a problem affecting patients and likely contributing to aggressiveness and other problems with patients. Needs info on the allegations of abuse/neglect at Western State Hospita in the early to mid 20th century not just in the 2010's.[edit]

The controversial over Frances Famer's treatment at this hospital alleged that while she was being held for treatment at Western State Hospital in the 1940's, that she and other patients for subjected to barbaric medical medical treatment, sexual abuse & rape, and other human rights abuses. While it's great that their is current info on the recent 2018 problems found at the hospital, we also need to cover past issue with patient rights issues. --108.239.8.149 (talk) 20:14, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
