Great job!
[edit]I just want to congratulate everyone who has been working on this article. It is amazing how we can cover unfolding events like this almost in real time, despite the lack of attention from most mainstream media outlets. Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 12:21, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
My understanding is that Togoland was a German protectorate until World War I ended. It became a League of Nations mandate territory split into British Togoland and French Togoland. Following the 1956 British Togoland status plebiscite, the majority voted to become Ghana together with the Gold Coast (British colony). British Togoland covers what forms part of the Volta Region and the Oti Region. This article seems to suggest that the Volta Region and Oti Regions were areas where French was spoken. I am not aware of French being the official language in any British colony or territory including British Togoland. These areas transitioned from using the German language to English language as the official language when they came under British rule. Where from this revisionist idea that French was the official language? If this article is a campaign by some people connected to Togo to annex part of Ghana, it does not fulfill Wikipedia rules on neutrality of opinion. If that is not the agenda then this article needs revision. If the people agitating for secession say this area was originally French speaking, references need to be provided to establish that fact so it is clear it is not the editor's opinion.--Natsubee (talk) 04:07, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
