Suggested Changes from Westfield[edit]

Hello, everyone. My name is Erik Even, and I am a Web Producer for Westfield Corporation. We're concerned that many of the Wikipedia pages for Westfield centers have incorrect or outdated information, and even content that is not NPOV. Apparently, someone from our company previously attempted to edit pages, and these edits were reversed because this person did not follow the Wikipedia rules. I apologize for this.

I have read the rules for Conflict of Interest, and I will not be attempting to make any page edits. I will simply be going into talk pages, and suggesting edits, which the community may then either act on or not. I genuinely appreciate any help you can give. I also understand that you do not work for us, and that we do not control this content. I hope you will view my suggestions as helpful rather than intrusive.

I'm commenting on the Topanga page first, because we just opened the Village expansion, and I assume many people will be viewing this page. I will paste some suggested text below, which is meant to be the first few paragraphs. I would point out that the way the page is currently worded, it gives the impression that Westfield Topanga has been renamed The Village at Westfield Topanga. The Village is a separate, but connected, expansion, although I don't see any reason for it to have its own separate page. Also, unlike other pages, this page starts with the history of the center. Other pages for shopping centers tend to describe the current state of the center first, and then go into the history.

Again, thank you for your help. I intend to follow any and all rules, and welcome any feedback. I'm going to hold off on making suggestions on other pages until I see how things work out here.

Suggested text:

Westfield Topanga, formerly known as Topanga Plaza, is a 1.6 million square-foot two-level indoor *shopping center* located in the *San Fernando Valley* suburb of *Canoga Park*, in *Los Angeles*, *California*. It is owned by the *Westfield Corporation*. Its *anchor stores* include *Macy’s*, *Target*, *Nordstrom*, and *Neiman Marcus*.

In September 2015, Westfield launched a major expansion of Westfield Topanga, called The Village at Westfield Topanga. This luxury, open-air shopping destination is located along *Topanga Canyon Boulevard*, between Westfield Topanga and the *Westfield Promenade*. It is anchored by *Costco*, *Crate & Barrel*, and *REI*.

Partly done: I've implemented most of the edit, but words like "luxury" are still too promotional. Altamel (talk) 21:29, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
