Standalone article versus redirect
[edit]I see that this article has had some reverting back and forth since WP:Articles for deletion/What If (Coldplay song) closed as merge. I saw the DRV and am following up on the recommendation to consult WP:Non-deleting deletion discussions. A discussion to overturn the AfD decision should probably be located at Talk:X&Y and framed as a split discussion. Flatscan (talk) 04:38, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- I would personally support this article being given a second chance, BUT a user should work on it in his/her userspace first; I would personally be willing to undertake the task. As a procedure, once I had done all I could for the article, I would send it to WP:MfD for feedback on whether or not the article had become acceptable. Thoughts? --Dylan620 (contribs, logs) 05:06, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- A userspace draft is a good idea, but MfD is the wrong venue. I recommend following the talk page discussion process suggested by WP:N3D. The recreated article may end up at AfD again, but if you nominate it to get outside input, the AfD may be speedy kept per clause 1, lacking a recommendation to delete. Flatscan (talk) 03:34, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- Should I restore the non-redirected version so that I can move the article into my userspace? --Dylan620 (contribs, logs) 14:36, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- No need, just copy the contents of this page. --JD554 (talk) 14:42, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Why??
[edit]Why should this article be deleted?? I don't understand it. It's not a worldwide single, but there are a lot of pages about non-worldwide singles. So if that's not, what is the reason? White Shadows has its own page and its single release was less important, and hit less countries--Quaveren (talk) 19:23, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Notability was never established as far as I can make out. Read WP:NSONGS for further info. --JD554 (talk) 14:20, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

I would like to add information about the Coldplay song "What If." It was featured on wikipedia a while ago and I want to add it again. Samspore (talk) 23:37, 19 November 2014 (UTC)
- @Samspore: Not done: requests for decreases to the page protection level should be directed to the protecting admin or to Wikipedia:Requests for page protection if the protecting admin is not active or has declined the request. But you're probably best using WP:AFC, and ensuring that WP:NSONGS is satisfied. --Redrose64 (talk) 00:39, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

It actually should be what it is like Lovers in Japan is single and What If is also a single. TheKirby64 (talk) 05:15, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
- @TheKirby64: Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. --Redrose64 (talk) 10:12, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
