Source titles[edit]

User:Magitroopa doesn't think the full title of Showbuzzdaily sources are needed. As such his source title reads as "Friday 4.7.2023 Top 150 Cable Originals & Network Finals".

I think the full title is needed because we shouldn't be adding our own spin to the original text except in the article itself. The references and the section should be left alone. My sources read as "SHOWBUZZDAILY's Friday 4.7.2023 Top 150 Cable Originals & Network Finals UPDATED".

Compare the source titles in mine and Magitroopa's edits.

We most certainly do not cut titles, we go by reliable sources. Please see Template:Cite web#Examples, specifically the NFL example which reads "NFL Rules Digest". NFL Football Operations. National Football League. Retrieved June 11, 2023.. — YoungForever^(talk) 17:41, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This same thing is done throughout many other articles- have fun trying to fix all those from over the past years. A) "SHOWBUZZDAILY's" is not needed when the website's title is already listed within the 'work' parameter of the source, and B) The 'UPDATED' part is not in regard to any data changes of the information being used for the ratings within Wikipedia articles- and the 'updating' that is done is usually within an hour or two- we aren't going to sit around and wait for the title to update just to add "UPDATED" to the source's title. The main part of the title, between the "xxxxday" and "Network Finals" is all that is really needed, and has never been a problem up until you deciding to make it a problem. My apologies if that came off as rude- my main point with that is that there are many more articles (100+? Likely way more than that...) that have stuck with this over the past years, and with what it is pertaining, it's something that doesn't really need to become a problem with all the dozens of other problems/other things to help with on Wikipedia.
