Ft Defiance, Gray et al re Wickaninnish

Just wondering if there's any particulars on Gray/Kendrick that could be added here; perhaps too much again for just now?Skookum1 (talk) 20:39, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like there is a lot more that could be said, not just about Gray and Kendrick, but the relations between Wickaninnish and Maquinna (and their respective peoples too). They are described as "rivals" here, but from what I've read so far I've gotten the sense it was a relatively complex relation and changed considerably over time. Just now I'm looking at maps of Clayoquot Sound to get a better sense of things. If nothing else some of the info on the Fort Defiance page could be copied over here. Advertising?

Wickaninnish means no one stands before me, and the name was not permitted to be used by the hotel or parks canada , i am a descendant of wickaninnish , and the chiefs monarchy is still in effect today , the family is in grieving right now , a regent will be chosen when that grieving time is up . the name is not held by parks canada or the hotel but by the descendants of wickaninnish  — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cassaydan (talk • contribs) 19:49, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
