Off Broadway[edit]

No comment on many of the scenes being staged? That's why it originally went off the air, wasn't it? Marlin Perkins 05:09, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's what I'm interested in. As snopes wrote at http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/lemmings.asp :
Nature documentaries are notoriously difficult to film, as wild animals are not terribly cooperative. Many nature shows and films of this era — including Disney's "True-Life Adventure" movies and TV's Wild Kingdom — staged events to capture exciting footage for their audiences. --InsultComicDog (talk) 11:13, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm wondering if the "staged scenes" controversy mentioned in the Article is the ultimate source of W.K.'s famous tagline:

"All of the scenes in this program, whether actual or created, depict authenticated facts."

Indeed, I would love to see some mention made of this tagline within the main article. I'd do it myself but have neither facts nor information to contribute to the matter.

Episode List?[edit]

Can anyone supply a list of episodes? Not even their own site has one. CFLeon (talk) 19:33, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mini Moke[edit]

I visited the St. Louis Zoo in 1967 and I remember seeing Perkins getting about on what I thought was an electric golf cart. A Mini Moke, eh? It ran very quietly and it had a bicycle bell he would ring to warn of his approach.--Phyllis1753 (talk) 16:45, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

While Jim Wrestles the Giant Anaconda[edit]

While Jim is busy with this unusually large and aggressive anaconda I’d like to talk to you about how Mutual of Omaha can take care of you in times of uncertainty. We’ll check back to see how Jim is doing in a moment. Jack Waugh (talk) 15:04, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

==[edit]

According to the article, Fowler says that Perkins said that Johnny Carson started the jokes about Marlin narrating from a place of safety. Has anyone found a Carson episode where he did this? I know Bill Hicks made it a part of his routine ("I was back at camp sipping a Mai Tai while Jim was wrestling the salt-water crocodile.") and thought that Hicks started it. ~~ 4 April 2016 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:558:6022:13:54E8:8B98:61EA:3F0D (talk) 04:13, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know of any videos I could link to, but I distinctly remember Carson telling those jokes. RJBowman (talk) 15:24, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Chicago Production[edit]

I'm too lazy to find satisfactory cites but I believe the studio portions were shot in Chicago at the old Fred Niles Studio. The building now houses Harpo Productions.

MOOWK Famous Tagline...[edit]

I wonder how the "anaconda episode" is related to Wild Kingdom's adoption of its famous tagline at the end of its episodes:

"All of the scenes in this program, whether actual or created, depict authenticated facts."

Research into this seems warranted; and I personally, for one, would love to know just when the use of this tagline began, to help me to obtain a recording of it from the web archives! The Grand Rascal (talk) 04:20, 22 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
