POV[edit]
I've whacked a {{POV}} tag on the top of the page for statements like "A talented young actor...", "His characterisations of the Bridegroom in his nineties, the Engineer, and the proud new father inYou can come and see the Baby, ensure that his memory lives on", "He won second prize!", and "Will Fyffe was a man of great honesty and integrity, and this comes across in his songs when heard today." Irony is also subjective in "Ironically, it was by falling from a hotel room window that Will Fyffe met his death". —97198 (talk) 10:41, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure where you want me to go with this article. I've done everything you asked for, now you are complaining about style. Would you like bland statements of fact only? I can do that, if that's what you want. For Will Fyffe to play Polonious in public at the age of 15 it must mean that he was a talented young actor, (as his later career proved,) so in my opinion that's a statement of fact, not POV.
- If Will Fyffe is remembered for anything at all it is for the characters he created, so I can't see that there is anything wrong in saying they "ensure that his memory lives on." That's a fact.
- I'll take the exclamation mark out of "He won second prize!" if you think it improves the article.
- I know that irony is lost on a lot of people so I'll take out that word too.
- As for 'Will Fyffe was a man of great honesty and integrity, and this comes across in his songs when heard today' this is a direct quote from Walter Macqueen-Popeand and is pointed up as such. How would you like me to change it? ♦ Jongleur100 ♦ talk 12:07, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
- LOL, I'm loving your "Would you like bland statements of fact only?" My answer, honestly? Uh, yes. Have you ever read WP:NPOV? Now's a good time. And assuming from the facts that he was a talented young actor does not make your opinion a fact. You're drawing your own conclusions. Keywords: your opinion. WP:NPOV states that neutral point of view (i.e. writing without opinion) is a "fundamental Wikimedia principle and a cornerstone of Wikipedia". I'm also loving your statement "I've done everything you asked for..." - wouldn't it just have been easier in the first place to write the article yourself without copying and pasting half the content?
