Knighthood[edit]

Although a number of sources refer to him as Sir William Cattley, the "Sir" appears to be purely an honorific and does not represent the actual receipt of a knighthood. An exhaustive search through the Gazette from 1800 to 1837 failed to turn up a knighthood. None of the detailed biographies mention a knighthood. --Bejnar (talk) 08:29, 20 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
