Moving page[edit]

I am proposing to move this page to "William Douglas Francis" — i.e. to one that uses his full name. I don't see any valid reason why this abbreviated version should exist with a redirect page occupying his full name. The fact that the redirect page exists without any disambiguation says that there is no conflict to my proposal. Note that the article itself starts by quoting his entire unabbreviated name, that both IPNI and HUH quote his name without abbreviation, and that there are numerous examples of wikipedia articles about botanists that don't abbreviate the name regardless of length. I will wait for arguments from those who want to keep the status quo (if there are any) and if not I'll move the page at the end of this month.  Junglenut |Talk  11:24, 21 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
