Worth, New York[edit]

I reverted an edit that added Worth, New York as a place named after William J. Worth. The article at Worth, New York states, without a cited source, that it was named after William Worth, a "commander of troops" at the Battle of Sackett's Harbor on May 28 and 29, 1813. William J. Worth had just been commissioned as First Lieutenant two months earlier, and so is unlikely to have commanded a large unit at that battle. A quick search has failed to show that William J. Worth was at the Battle of Sacketts Harbor. Without a reliable source stating that the town was named after this William J. Worth, it does not belong in the article. - Donald Albury 02:09, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
